The project

Xpression News is an independent and personal project started out by me, Andrei Dumitrache in the summer of 2006. The news management tool was born out of necessity due to the fact that I was unsatisfied by the performance of another popular news manager. The first version took shape in 4 months and was initially used on Hogsmeade-Village.com, my first web site where I used to manage a news section related to Harry Potter.

In autumn, 2006 I published Xpression News on HotScripts.com - the largest directory of web scripts. I only did this as an experiment to get some feedback on my work. The 1000+ downloads that I got in the first two weeks after publishing surprised me. It was then when I took the first step towards making Xpression News one of the leading content managers on the market.

Today, over 25,000 people have downloaded my web script.

I have been interested in programming ever since my IT teacher first opened my eyes on this new world with endless possibilities of creation. When I was little I used to play a lot with LEGO sets but I always had this problem: there were never enough blocks for me to finish my constructions. Programming is for me like a giant LEGO set with endless possibilities of creation and I love that. In my spare time I handle requests for creating web sites and custom scripts. I also play the electric guitar.
