Suggestions for the future...

Hi, as I said the script looks great and suits my needs. I was wondering whether it could be possible, in a future version, not to show the "comments" link under the displayed full news. I know they can be disabled, but it would be great that when that happened no link would exist. Instead, there could be links like "print this story", "send this story to a friend", and "back" instead of "xnews".

Just a few ideas to perfect a well written script. I have more that concern the editing environment, but I will leave them for another time. Thanks!

You can modify your template so the comments link is not show in the full news.

Remove the folowing code in the Full article body:

Thanks for the suggestion. As for the other ideas, I hope to see them implemented soon along with other languages support in version 3. I have tried many scripts the last month, and I have to say that yours is one of the best.

For more language support someone need to translate the script It doesn't translate itself .... yet

I know what you mean. I have another suggestion though, they keep popping up. Would it be possible to include a "search" function so that someone can search and find news relative to entered keywords?

I totally agree with the search suggestion. So that it would be easier to find any specific topics.

1) ability to email news to the site (medium priority)

2) ability to copy news items to Facebook and Twitter accounts (medium-high)


I have some more detailed suggestions, but as I'm new to this script I'll hold on until I solve some of the things I'm still struggling with.

These are two really interesting suggestions. I am more interested in your second point which could be implemented and tested easily.

Right now, I'm planning to release Xpression News 3 RC2. All the work is done now, I just need to finish testing it before going public. I think I could implement point 2. As for the first one, it will probably have to wait because I am scheduled to launch a stable version this month.

V3 is awesome. Other than the couple of issues which I mentioned in the support forum, I think it's great. I second the idea that a "print page" button should be at the bottom along with the facebook button.
